SIPA Solutions for PET Edible Oil
SIPA developed a container with a simple design that provided high technical performance, in terms of resistance to palletising and maximising the stability of the container.
20/06/09 SIPA of Veneto, Italy, has assisted Atkarsky Mez, a major Russian producer of margarine and vegetable spreads, with its recent expansion into a new sunflower oil product line.
SIPA, a global leader of PET Stretch Blow Moulding Machines for the production of PET bottles, was initially approached by Atkarsky Mez, to develop the packaging that would supply the blowing moulds.
However the project soon expanded to include the development of an entire plant, from the production of preforms to bottle blowing, and the filling of the bottles utilising a SIPA/Berchi weight filler.
SIPA developed a container with a simple design that provided high technical performance, in terms of resistance to palletising and maximising the stability of the container.
The complete plant consists of a SIPA PPS Injection system with 72 cavities for the production of preforms, a SIPA SFR Rotary Blow moulder for the blowing of the bottles and a Berchi rotary weight filler system.
With a production speed of up to 36,000 bottles/hour, the plant which is installed in the Sartov site in Russia, is one of the first plants to provide such high productivity for edible oils.
The high speed of the injection and blowing systems is matched by precise weight filling, which has been specifically designed to meet the needs of edible oil producers.
SIPA is represented in Oceania by HBM Plastics &Packaging Technologies.
