Schwan acquires Holiday Foods

26/01/06 The Schwan Food Company has announced that Camden Culinary, Inc., a Schwan subsidiary, has acquired Holiday Foods, Inc., a well-known wholesale manufacturer based in Hollywood, Fla. The terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Founded in 1982 by Emily Zecchino, Holiday Foods is a multimillion-dollar business that creates and manufactures specialty hors d’oeuvres and canapés. Holiday Foods employs more than 100 people and operates an 80,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Hollywood.
Zecchino, who emigrated from Italy in 1947, grew the Holiday Foods business from her start-up, onewoman catering firm to a business that distributes award-winning products from coast to coast. Holiday Foods products are found at the finest hotels and country clubs throughout the United States.
Holiday Foods products will continue to be manufactured and marketed under the Holiday Foods brand.
The Schwan Food Company is a privately held, multibillion-dollar business that manufactures and markets fine frozen foods through home delivery, retail grocery and foodservice channels. Headquartered in Marshall, Minn., for more than 50 years, Schwan employs about 22,000 people in the United States and Europe.
