Saphia Lifestyle Beverages Introduces Low Calorie, Naturally Flavored, Nutrient Enriched Beverage
The product was developed specifically to respond to obstetricians’ universal recommendation that expectant, nursing and hopeful moms drink the equivalent of at least eight, eight-ounce glasses of water daily.
The patent-pending Saphia (pronounced sa-fee-a) line offers lightly flavored waters enriched with medically-approved mounts of folic acid, calcium, dietary fiber, zinc, niacin, magnesium, selenium, vitamin B5, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin A, taurine and electrolytes potassium and sodium.
Saphia Water is currently available in three flavors, BlissBerry, PacifyinglyPeach and LovinglyLemon, with additional flavors on the horizon. The beverages are available immediately in 24-bottle cases for $42.99 through the SLB website at www.saphiawater.com. SLB will expand availability of Saphia Water to select retail outlets nationwide, and in variety four- and six-packs by fall 2006. Saphia Water will be sold in 16.9-ounce P.E.T. bottles at a suggested retail price of $1.99 per bottle.
Saphia Water was co-founded by two mothers, public relations executive and writer Gretchen Cook-Anderson, and double board-certified neonatologist/perinatologist Angela Patterson, MD, FAAP, based on their expertise and personal experiences, and the belief that hopeful, expectant, and nursing moms want more from water than plain H20.
The targeted niche product line will appeal to the annual market of four million pregnant women and 2.5 million breastfeeding U.S. mothers, as well as to countless women hoping to become pregnant.
