Salmon producers merge to form aquaculture giant
Webster to merge its wholly owned subsidiary Aquatas with Tassal Group.
02/02/05 Two Tasmanian salmon producers have merged to create Australia's biggest aquaculture company.
Webster has announced that it had signed an agreement to merge its wholly owned subsidiary Aquatas with Tassal Group.
And the new $130 million combined Tassal is already looking to expand -- within the salmon industry and into other seafoods.
After the deal, worth about $42 million, Webster will own 25 per cent of the new combined Tassal, making it the biggest shareholder.
