Rosen's Diversified, American Foods Group announce merger completion
Combined total sales for the two meat companies last year were more than $1.5 billion. RDI's agricultural chemical distribution and fertilizer business units were not part of the transaction.
01/09/05 Rosen's Diversified Inc. (RDI) of Fairmont, Minnesota and American Foods Group of Green Bay, Wisconsin have announced the completion of their merger agreement. The new national food company will be known as American Foods Group, LLC and have operating plants in Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Ohio, Nebraska and Virginia.
The parties announced their intent to merge on July 15, 2005. Combined total sales for the two meat companies last year were more than $1.5 billion. Terms of the agreement have not been announced, however, RDI's agricultural chemical distribution and fertilizer business units were not part of the transaction.
Tom Rosen, CEO of Rosen's Diversified, and Carl Kuehne, CEO and owner of American Foods Group, will serve as co-chairmen and co-CEOs of the new company. Greg Benedict will be COO and Robert Hovde will be the CFO.
American Foods Group, LLC employs over 3,000 team members at its meat processing plants located in Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio and Virginia. American Foods Group, LLC will be the preferred providers of fresh and frozen meats to the leading and largest retailers and national food system distributors. It will also be a preferred provider of cooked and case ready meat products for the retail and foodservice markets. American Foods Group, LLC also includes a refrigerated transportation company operating as America's Service Line, LLC and American Logistics, LLC as well as Performance Pet Products, LLC, a pet treats business.
