Portable Powder Blending Comes to Mexico
14 May 2015 --- Blendhub Corp, a company specializing in the formulation and blending of food products, has announced that Premium Ingredients Mexico and Treepak have entered into a collaboration agreement to jointly operate the first 'Portable Powder Blending' plant in Latin America.
Blendhub Corp.'s recently launched strategy "Food Powder Blends Anywhere" will allow both companies to establish themselves in the Mexican market producing high quality and low cost-per-kilo powder blends, with a minimal financial and operational risk.
At the end of June 2015, Mexico will host the first modular and "Portable Powder Blending" factory (PPB), in Latin America. This is the result of an agreement between the companies Treepak and Premium Ingredients México, the latter forming part of Blendhub Corp.
The agreement will allow both companies to produce powder blends, based on their own formulations and with or without liquid injection, complying with the highest food safety at the most competitive cost in the market. Additionally, the collaboration agreement reduces the financial and operational risks for both companies during the implementation.
On the one hand, Premium Ingredients Mexico will have a new production center close to its customers, allowing the company to supply them more quickly and safely, reducing transportation time and costs as well as the prices of certain raw materials, the import tariff, and other fixed and variable costs.
Through this new blending plant, Treepak will be able to introduce itself into the food formulations at a competitive cost, with the maximum guarantees of food safety required in the sector, and with a minimum risk due to the technology supplied by Blendhub Corp.
The Mexican company will be able to offer its customers a complete solution; from the creation and development of food powder formulas and the supply of the ingredients for these formulas to their manufacturing or blending, and packaging, with a flexible packaging system and additional services in quality, safety and traceability.
The PPB blending factory will be installed at Treepak headquarters, in Naucalpan (Mexico D.F.), less than six months after the first contact between the two companies and only three months after signing the agreement. It has been possible thanks to the production and full-service platform developed by Blendhub Corp. during the last ten years and that will change the way in which the formulas of blended Agri-food powder products are delivered from now on.
The president and CEO of Blendhub Corp., Henrik Stamm Kristensen, said that the installation of a production center in collaboration with Treepak in Mexico is a major step forward in the commitment initiated over three years ago by Premium Ingredients to their Mexican food customers. "We seek a strong local integration with the food industry everywhere we go, based not only on the support from a technological formulation, but on its whole delivery platform, locally installed and operated by people from the corresponding country, with local raw materials and creating a greater local value.”
Eduardo A. Delgado Almada, CEO of Treepak, for his part, considers this alliance key to "implement the company's strategy of fully integrating into the supply chain" of its customers, and thus "to provide a solution to the growing market need of generating a one-stop shopping experience.” It will involve huge cost reduction and logistics benefits for Treepak's customers working with food powder products.
