Perot Systems Wins Five-Year Contract with Altivity Packaging
Under the agreement, Perot Systems will provide a broad range of infrastructure technology outsourcing services and selected application support for Altivity's operations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
09/03/07 Perot Systems Corporation announced that Altivity Packaging, a leading provider of folding cartons and bag packaging, has signed a five-year contract with Perot Systems in support of its business and technology integration strategy. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Following a period of mergers, acquisitions and growth, the $2 billion packaging manufacturer is looking to Perot Systems to support its IT integration and alignment strategy, including a centralized data center and IT infrastructure housing Altivity's business systems and applications.
"Outsourcing provides us the flexibility to expand our core IT services as our business and technology needs grow. We also needed to provide transparency to the true costs of IT, enabling us to make better informed decisions as the demand for IT services change," said Steve Nelson, vice president of IT for Altivity. "Perot Systems is a match for our needs and is the best IT option for Altivity. We are confident in their ability to deliver."
Under the agreement, Perot Systems will provide a broad range of infrastructure technology outsourcing services and selected application support for Altivity's operations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. For the initial six months, Perot Systems will focus on helping to migrate select applications and consolidate Altivity's data center into Perot Systems' Plano Technology Center. Perot Systems will also provide network services management, telecommunications support, and its RS6000 utility computing and storage solution from its Technology Center.
"Our industry-specific knowledge, mature IT processes and data center capabilities provide Altivity with the ability to reliably, quickly and economically set up and maintain the IT infrastructure needed to run their systems and network," explained Steve Curts, president of Perot Systems commercial solutions group. "As a result, Altivity will be better positioned to achieve significant performance and cost benefits, such as more timely and economical support for their divisions and groups, as well as a more efficient use of their financial resources."
