PepsiCo UK and Ireland gets new President
Salman Amin succeeds Martin Glenn who has chosen to resign to pursue alternatives within the U.K.
13/10/05 PepsiCo has announced that Salman Amin, the company's most senior international marketing executive, will become president of PepsiCo UK and Ireland.
Amin succeeds Martin Glenn, who after a successful 13-year career with PepsiCo, has chosen to leave to pursue other career opportunities within the U.K. Glenn had declined offers of senior PepsiCo positions outside the U.K.
Since Glenn assumed responsibility for Walkers it has grown to be the biggest brand in the U.K., and under his leadership of PepsiCo U.K., all of the company's principal brand groups -- Walkers, Pepsi, Tropicana and Quaker -- have grown. Glenn also has led efforts to address growing consumer interest in health and wellness, by developing new products, improving the nutritional profile of many existing products and taking a prominent role in public debate.
Amin brings to his new role a broad range experience in consumer products, including PepsiCo's largest businesses, snacks and beverages. As senior vice president of marketing for PepsiCo International, he has been responsible for marketing all PepsiCo brands outside the U.S. and Canada. Previously he served as senior vice president responsible for marketing international snacks. He joined PepsiCo in 1995 as vice president of marketing for Pepsi-Cola International.
The leadership transition will be completed by February 2006.
