Nordzucker Sells Hübner Group to Dermapharm

12/14/2010 --- Nordzucker AG, Braunschweig, has withdrawn from its involvement in the health sector at the end of the year by selling the Hübner Group to pharmaceuticals company Dermapharm AG, Grünwald. This move opens up positive long term prospects for the Hübner Group in the strong consortium of the expanding medium-sized company operating in the same sector.

Nordzucker already disclosed its selling intentions at the beginning of the year. With Dermapharm AG, Braunschweigbased Nordzucker has attracted a buyer that already boasts a broad product portfolio and an outstanding sales & marketing network in the pharmaceuticals and OTC business, and can therefore exploit synergies within the consortium.

The Nordzucker Group, with its headquarters in Braunschweig/Germany, is Europe’s second biggest sugar producer. The company also produces other products from sugar beet, in particular bioethanol and animal feed. Nordzucker’s 18 production and refinery sites across Europe build the efficient technical, logistical and geographical foundations for further success in future.
