New DouxMatok partnership extends Incredo Sugar in North America
16 Jun 2022 --- DouxMatok and Batory Foods have announced a commercial agreement with Batory Foods to distribute Incredo Sugar, the only reduced-sugar product on the market made from real cane sugar. Starting this month, Batory Foods will add the product to its portfolio and begin distribution across North America. Kelly Thompson, DouxMatok’s senior vice president and head of North America, tells FoodIngredientsFirst what this agreement means.
“It will give DouxMatok a supplemental sales channel to expand our customer reach and distribution opportunities, in addition to our direct sales channels,” she says.
“The partnership will allow us to reach their network of customers in North America looking to reduce sugar in baked goods and confectionery products,” Thompson adds.
“We have a commercial-ready solution and the ability to tackle evolving consumer demand for lower sugar products,” explains Thompson. “We expect additional products using Incredo Sugar to launch this year. We’re also currently working to expand our presence in Europe and Asia,” Thompson also reveals.
Reaching a larger marketIncredo Sugar has the same level of sweetness as regular sugar with 50% less sugar and without compromising taste or texture.
Thompson explains that Incredo Sugar has been available in North America for over a year. However, since Batory Foods has a long-standing history in the industry, it is the first time it will be available to such a large customer base.
This partnership is one of many advances DouxMatok has made into newer markets since the beginning of the year. In January, DouxMatok announced, in collaboration with Blommer Chocolate Company, a 50% less sugar chocolate chip using Incredo Sugar.
Around the same time, DouxMatok and Blommer also announced that they had teamed up to produce a reduced-sugar chocolate coating in milk, dark and white chocolate flavors.
“We’re excited to work with Batory Foods and the partnership will allow us to reach their network of customers in North America looking to reduce sugar in baked goods and confectionery products,” Thompson continues.
What’s all the excitement about?
According to DouxMatok, Incredo Sugar can bring the same level of sweetness as regular sugar with 50% less sugar and it does this without compromising taste or texture.
Partnering with Batory foods will allow even more consumers in North America and the US to prioritize health and nutrition while satisfying the desire for delicious and sweet foods.
Vince Pinneri, president of Batory Foods, states that “adding an innovative solution like Incredo Sugar to our portfolio of ingredients provides an excellent opportunity for us to keep up with growing demands of consumers and food brands looking for products that are both indulgent and deliver on nutrition.”

Innova Market Insights reports that 53% of global consumers say they have taken actions to improve their health and well-being. At the same time, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has reported that over 50% of adults in the US are either diabetic or prediabetic.
Thompson also stated that DouxMatok is constantly researching and developing ways to improve Incredo Sugar. Not just in taste and sugar reduction but in labeling, cost, efficiency and sustainability too. “You can expect to hear more about that later this year,” he concludes. “There are a lot of exciting announcements to come.”
