04/04/05 Three Nestle candy plants that manufacture products like Sweet Tarts, Fun Dip and Pixie Sticks will be closed by next year, the Glendale company has announced.
According to a statement issued by the company the move is "strictly a production issue" and that the consolidation will bring both Illinois plants up to maximum production capacity.
The bulk of production will be moved to existing Nestle plants in Bloomington and Itasca, Ill. About 40 percent of production will be moved to a Nestle plant in Saltio, Mexico.
