Colloides Naturels International (CNI) has announced the global market launch of ENCAPCIA, promoted as the ultimate in encapsulation. Developed using an innovative processing technology, Encapcia is 100% acacia gum, all natural and GMO-free. ENCAPCIA combines enhanced emulsifying properties with superior film-forming capacity. The ingredient is an effective and economical protective coating or carrier for the encapsulation of sensitive and volatile products. It can be used in spray drying citrus oils, mint oil, Omega 3 oils, bacteria, vitamins, colorants, and other sensitive materials.
ENCAPCIA’s high level of functionality provides major cost savings while ensuring superior, long-lasting protection when compared to modified starches or other chemical alternatives. Encapcia has been fully purified and pasteurized before drying and agglomeration, to insure the best physical and microbiological specifications.
CNI will also be promoting the second generation of their innovative new product EFICACIA at the FIE in Paris later this year. The ingredient is an acacia-based stabilizer for emulsion applications. Obtained from an innovative process breakthrough, EFICACI allows a reduction of 3-5 times in the typical use level when formulating flavor emulsions. EFICACI is effective at use levels of 4-7% in liquid emulsions vs. typical levels of 18-25% with traditional acacia gums. This extremely high level of functionality and effectiveness provides major cost savings while also ensuring superior emulsion stability over time.
EFICACIA efficiently stabilizes flavor and beverage emulsions, guaranteeing total absence of creaming, flocculation, sedimentation or coalescence in the concentrated emulsion and after dilution. This second generation of EFICACIA is more purified, more efficient and is thus fully suitable for complex emulsion, that is to say high loaded in oil or containing natural colors.
EFICACIA provides emulsion stability over a wide pH range and is highly compatible with most traditional weighting systems. EFICACIA is granulated, dust-free and flows easily to facilitate ease of handling and dispersion. The very quick hydration of EFICACIA offers significant time savings in the plant and increased productivity.
EFICACIA is labeled as acacia gum (gum arabic) and benefits from the valuable linkage to an all natural and GMO-free product. During manufacture, EFICACIA undergoes multiple physical purification steps, filtrations and pasteurization, which results a finished product with high microbiological purity and very low total plate counts.
