Moonlight Meadery Celebrates 6th Anniversary with 2 New Offerings

6 July 2016 --- LONDONDERRY, NH –– Moonlight Meadery, billed as the top commercial meadery in the country by “Full Pint”, is celebrating a 6th anniversary by launching an additional 2 ciders in their portfolio in draft releases. Crimes of Passion is a black currant cider and Boys n’ Berries is a boysenberry cider.

Moonlight Meadery founder Michael Fairbrother has been home brewing ciders at home for over 20 years now.

“Moonlight Meadery cider sales has increased a whopping 4000% since last year!” says Fairbrother, “We had to invest in a 3000 gallon fermenter Brite tank to catch up on back orders. This new equipment allows us to enter the carbonated cider field and increase our flavor offerings.”

Michael, a National Ranked judge in the Beer Judge Certification program, noticed that no commercial entries existed for the New England Cider style, he set out to change that last year by releasing ‘How do you like Them apples?’ These styles of cider are made with characteristic New England apples for relatively high acidity, with adjuncts to raise alcohol levels. The aroma and flavor presents a light, refreshingly tart, flavorful cider with robust apple character and derivative flavors from sugar adjuncts. It has a clear to brilliant, pale to medium yellow appearance. These draft only releases are fermented from New England apples that were freshly pressed the day of production, adding a rich, apple taste.

Moonlight Meadery started 6 years ago in founder and mead maker Michael Fairbrother’s garage.
