Mondelez International to Invest $65m in R&D Hubs
15 Sep 2016 --- Mondelez International is investing $65m in a number of global research & development hubs, which it says will drive growth and help recruit and retain employees. The nine Research, Development & Quality (RDQ) networks are spread across the US, the UK, Mexico, Poland, China, India, Singapore and Brazil.
The networks will be made of new and existing technical centres, which the US snacks giant says will help it be more "flexible" and "agile".
"With these advantaged technical centres, we're focusing our investment in research, equipment and capabilities to drive innovation to support our growth strategy and innovation, margin and quality platforms," said Rob Hargrove, executive vice president, RDQ.
"These hubs will enable improved efficiency, effectiveness and accelerated project delivery, while the increased scale across key markets will provide rapid access to changing consumer needs and trends."
The hubs are as follows
• Mexico City, Mexico
• East Hanover, N.J., United States
• Bournville, United Kingdom
• Reading, United Kingdom
• Wroclaw, Poland
• Thane, India
• Suzhou, China
• Jurong, Singapore
• Curitiba, Brazil
Three of the centres – East Hanover, Bournville and Reading – are already in full operation.
