10 Dec 2009 --- Macphie, the UK’s leading independent food ingredients manufacturer, has launched a new banana variant to its O.T.T. (Over The Top) range of dessert toppings. Creating delicious, colourful desserts couldn’t be quicker or easier. Banana O.T.T. comes ready-to-pour in convenient, 500g squeezy bottles with a re-sealable cap, meaning there’s no need to decant it prior to use, it can be dispensed easily and there’s no mess to clean up. Once you've used it simply pop it back in the fridge until next time.
Packed with the sweet taste of Costa Rican bananas, it contains less than 1% fat and has no artificial colours or flavourings. It works well in baked goods, for example, if you drizzle it onto muffin or cake batter before baking it gives baked goods added moistness and flavour. For added indulgence, it can be poured on muffins, brownies, pastries and pancakes just before serving. Or it can be blended with milk to make refreshing banana-flavoured milk shakes that adults and children will love.
Marketing Manager, Ellie Adair, says: “Customers will pay a premium for desserts that look and taste great, which means that colourful toppings like Banana O.T.T. are the key to greater profits. It's a novel twist on the world's most popular fruit, giving ice-cream, brownies and cheese-cakes a delicious taste of the tropics.”
Free from artificial colours and flavours, the O.T.T Dessert Toppings range includes Chocolate, Raspberry, Strawberry, Butterscotch and Toffee flavours. Unopened, they have an ambient shelf-life of nine months. Once opened, they can be stored in the fridge and used until the end the best before date. Available in a case of 12 x 500g bottles.
