Louis Glunz Beer Inc. to Distribute Possmann Pure Cider

11 July 2016 --- LINCOLNWOOD, IL — Louis Glunz Beer, Inc., Chicago’s family-run craft and specialty import beer distributor, announces the acquisition of Niche Import Co. brand Possmann Pure Cider, available now in the Chicago market. Kelterei Possmann—a 135-year-old apple wine maker based in Frankfurt, Germany—is the third cider brand to join Glunz in 2016, along with Blake’s Hard Cider and Pacific Coast Cider.

“These German hard ciders and apple wines are made by natural fermentation processes handed down by generations of cider makers, resulting in well-rounded products with balance,” says Anthony Norkus, craft and specialty import brand manager for Glunz.

Possmann Pure Cider (5% ABV)

The uncompromisingly perfect hard apple cider from Kelterei Possmann Frankfurt Germany. Possmann Pure Cider has a perfect balance of rich apple flavor while not to sweet and finishing dry. The flavor comes from our unique source of apples which are harvested exclusively from our 800+ farmers in the Hessen region of Germany. Our typical framer has 3 to 15 naturally occurring apple trees on their land that are not part of a cultivated orchard. These country apples provide a uniquely rich apple flavor. Possmann Pure Cider Rose (5% ABV)

This rosy-colored cider balances rich apple flavor with black currant for a taste that’s not too sweet and finishes dry.

Possmann 1881 apple wine (8% ABV)

Possmann 1881 is a sparkling apple wine, pressed from a private selection of fine apples, enhanced by an elaborate, two-fold fermentation process—the same method used in the production of Champagne. The taste is refreshing, harmonious, and fruity.

Frankfurter Apfelwein apple wine (5.5% ABV)

Frankfurter Apfelwein is Possmann’s flagship product that has made the company the most recognized apple wine producer in Germany, a crisp, clear wine with the distinct harmony of a tart wine with fruit flavor of the apple.
