Lonza increases vitamin B3 prices
The Swiss based life sciences company says that the move comes in reaction to recent trends which are having a considerable impact on production costs, specifically B3 Vitamins.
13/04/05 Lonza has announced increases of 10-12 % for its B3 vitamins, which will become effective on June 1, 2005. The Swiss based life sciences company says that the move comes in reaction to recent trends which are having a considerable impact on production costs, specifically B3 Vitamins.Therefore Lonza decided to increase prices, in an effort to help absorb some of these sustained higher costs.
According to the company, demand for Vitamin B3 continues to be strong and it is foreseen that this trend will continue in all market segments. This summer Lonza will inaugurate its second nicotinates plant in China. This additional capacity will allow Lonza to cater to the future increased demand. Lonza generated sales of CHF 2.18 billion in 2004.
