Lipid Nutrition acquires PharmaNutrients CLA One Business

The acquisition strengthens Loders Croklaan's Lipid Nutrition’s position in global CLA market.

26/01/06 Lipid Nutrition, division of IOI-Loders Croklaan Group B.V., has signed an agreement to acquire PharmaNutrients’ CLA One business effective February 1, 2006. As a result of this acquisition, Lipid Nutrition substantially reinforces its position as a dominant player in the CLA market.

PharmaNutrients has elected to divest of its CLA One product line to focus on its business of proprietary nutritional formulations targeting inflammation, diabetes and cardiovascular health.

“I am confident that our clients will get the support, knowledge and expertise they need to continue in their success,” stated Mark Nottoli, President of PharmaNutrients. “Handing over our CLA One business to Lipid Nutrition, a bigger company with the same philosophy and more expertise, is the best thing for our clients. This provides us the opportunity to focus on our other specialty products.”

Customers will experience uninterrupted service and solid support worldwide. As both companies operate warehouse and customer service facilities in the Chicago area, it’s expected a smooth transition for the North American customers. Lipid Nutrition’s manufacturing facility in the Netherlands will provide faster delivery to European clients and supply international needs.

Loders Croklaan reported that the integration of the Clarinol and CLA One brands under one global supplier is beneficial to all customers. Lipid Nutrition provides access to a wider CLA product portfolio (most notably their Clarinol 95% CLA and highly concentrated Clarinol Powder), access to its CLA patent portfolio, as well as access to the all-important WARF CLA patents covering claims related to body composition. Lipid Nutrition’s dedicated CLA production facility, which is the largest in the world, will also provide CLA One customers assurance of the highest quality and consistent product.
