Limagrain Céréales Ingrédients Launches Ingredient to Substitute Nuts
17 Dec 2013 --- Limagrain Céréales Ingrédients have introduced Nutricorn Nuts - a new toasted and granulated maize germ, which will decrease recipe costs in bars or mueslis.
“Nutricorn nuts is a well-balanced ingredient that contains less fat and more fibres than nuts – and is ideal for allergy sufferers because it is nut free,” reports Dr Walter Lopez of Limagrain Céréales Ingrédients.
“Nutricorn Nuts contains 30% less calories, less fat than nuts (at least 50% less) and more fibre - which can help to reach label claims.
“Also, nuts are expensive products with big price fluctuations due to harvests - by replacing 50% in a bar recipe, Nutricorn Nuts allows you to decrease the recipe cost by nearly 28% and have a more assured view of future pricing.
“Above all, we believe that Nutricorn Nuts brings benefits for consumers – the colour is slightly brown to give a very authentic aspect to the bars and they have a sweet taste and a toasted nuts flavour,” adds Dr Lopez.
