LFH Packs Hit Scandinavian Shelves

13/06/08 Packaging design firm LFH has helped firms in FMCG group Orkla launch two product lines in Scandinavia.
The London-based firm has designed 0.33l and one litre Tetra Paks for Nora Smoothies, which go on sale in Norwegian shops this month.
Nora is a recognized name in the fruit juice market but smoothies are relatively unknown in Norway and the new pack is designed to "communicate attributes that were not necessarily well-recognized, such as the thickness of a smoothie compared to juice".
Steve Irvine, LFH creative director, said: "We wanted to ensure that to a market that has little previous reference points as to what a smoothie actually is and that the pack design would get this across simply and effectively." Images on the pack show the thickness of the product compared to traditional juices.
Meanwhile, LFH is also targeting the adult market with a yogurt pot for Jacky Plus Omega-3, a sub-brand of Finnish children's yogurt Jacky.
The brief for the project was to create a design for the three variants which communicates omega-3, taste, health and well being to the adult market in an appetizing and appealing way.

Irvine said the result was a "more abstract and subtle design for a product that traditionally focussed on functional benefits".
