Lactobacillus GG (LGGR) strengthening its position also on the British Isles
Sainsbury's is this week launching a probiotic yoghurt with Lactobacillus GG in UK. After several years this is the first probiotic product with Lactobacillus GG in Great Britain.
17/02/06 Valio notes that two recent dairy launches show the increasing interest towards real probiotic products also on the market in the British Isles.
The company claims that Lactobacillus GG (LGG®) is the worlds most researched probiotic. Its probiotic function has been proven in more than 300 published studies in scientific peer-reviewed journals. Rights to Lactobacillus GG culture as well as to the LGG® trademark are licensed from Valio Ltd, Finland. Valio Ltd is the leading dairy company in Finland and is also known as a pioneer in Functional Dairy Foods, e.g. probiotic LGG® and blood pressure lowering Evolus technology. Dairy products with LGG® are on the market in more than 35 markets around the world.
Glanbia in Ireland launched very recently a probiotic milk with LGG® under its Avonmore brand. Glanbia also uses the same probiotic in its Yoplait everybody and Yoplait everykid products. These products have been on the market in Ireland for several years already.
