Kemira Appoints Batory Foods as US Distributor

The appointment of Batory Foods by Kemira comes at a time when the market for propionates has tightened considerably, as costs on raw materials and energy continue to escalate.

Jan 2 2012 --- Kemira ChemSolutions has appointed Batory Foods its sales, marketing and distribution partner for sodium and calcium propionate products in the U.S. Together, Batory Foods and Kemira ChemSolutions emerge as marketplace leaders in meeting North America’s demand for these ingredients.

The appointment of Batory Foods by Kemira comes at a time when the market for propionates has tightened considerably, as costs on raw materials and energy continue to escalate. The salt is used at an increasing pace as a preservative in the food and feed industries. Among its highest-demand U.S. applications is as an inhibitor to the growth of mold and bacteria in bakery products.
