Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2014 Praises BenRiach, Glendronach and Glenglassaugh

Murray is widely regarded as one of the best whiskey writers and his "Bible" is being hailed as the world's most authoritative guide in the field of whiskey.

 

This year, he analyzed more than four thousand whiskeys from around the world, and gave scores of 0 to 100. The whiskeys in the category of 94 to 97.5 are, he says, "superstar whiskeys that give us all a reason to live" ... among these superstars are seven BenRiach, GlenDronach Glenglassaugh and expressions!

 

The towering whiskey, the GlenDronach Recherche 1968, it won the 41 years and older single cask category with 97 points. Murray's comment: "I am more than maddened by this malt style, it's more of a real love Really unbelievable.." Once in a lifetime "treat for most."

 

The following is the Glenglassaugh Massandra Collection Aleatico 39 years old, in the 35-40 year single cask category award won by 96.5 points. "We are talking about here, in a word, perfection. This is one of the few whiskeys this year, which I sat up in my chair. A whiskey with a very rare beauty and one of the best Scotch whiskeys which I have had for many years."
