Jacob’s Creek Adds Pinot Grigio to Its Cool Harvest Range
06 Sep 2013 --- Following the successful launch of the Jacob’s Creek Cool Harvest range in 2012, the iconic Australian wine brand is adding another varietal, Pinot Grigio, to complete its stellar line up of Cool Harvest wines.
Launched in response to growing consumer demand for light and fresh varietals, Jacob’s Creek Cool Harvest Pinot Grigio will be available this month with an off-trade RRP of £8.65.
“The popularity of Pinot Grigio amongst consumers is continuing to grow, with the grape variety now sitting as the UK’s second best-selling wine,” explains Lucy Bearman, head of marketing, Pernod Ricard UK.
“Australia is the greatest contributor to these sales, adding £10m to the overall value of Pinot Grigio. Not only do consumers enjoy Australian Pinot Grigio, they’re happy to pay extra for it – the varietal has an average selling price more than 15% higher versus the market average.”
The winemaking process for Cool Harvest Pinot Grigio is focused on maximising freshness, crispness and vibrancy. Harvesting grapes at night is critical because the cooler conditions ensure all the crisp, fresh fruit flavours and the delicate aromas that are seen in the vineyard are captured in the finished wines.
The Jacob’s Creek Cool Harvest Range will now consist of three wines – Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz Rosé and Pinot Grigio.
