Ingredion CEO Named 2013 Director of the Year by NACD
5 Sep 2013 --- Ilene Gordon, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ingredion Incorporated, has been named 2013 Director of the Year by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).
The award is given to a director who exemplifies knowledge, leadership and excellence in corporate governance and who is recognized by peers and the business community for upholding the highest professional standards for board and director performance.
"It is a great honor to be named Director of the Year and particularly meaningful to be recognized by my peers. I am grateful to the board of directors and the corporate officers at Ingredion and the other companies where I have served. They all have played critical roles in helping to advance what I believe are examples of good corporate governance," Gordon said.
"Ilene's track record as a corporate director is outstanding" said NACD President and CEO Ken Daly. "Plus, as the first female director on the boards of five different public companies, she's a pioneer and a role model for board diversity."
In addition to serving as board chairman of Ingredion, Gordon is a director of International Paper. Overall, she has over 30 years of collective experience on the boards of various public companies. She and other NACD honorees will be feted at a gala dinner on December 3 in New York City.
