Hijos de Rivera Starts a Packaging Revolution in Spain
This kind of packaging, according to its creators, improves the organoleptic properties of the product, because it preserves better its carbonatation and it adapts better to the traditional taps, so that the catering professionals do not need to do any modifications in its facilities.
18/03/08 The Spanish company Hijos de Rivera has chosen Alimentaria 2008, one of the most important food trade shows, to present its revolutionary innovations.
The first one is a non-returnable 30L PET barrel and the second one is a system for can protection unique in Spain. The company’s Innovation Centre in Chantada has spent the last three years in the investigation and development of new formats for its products, with the collaboration of international partners.
The non-returnable barrel Key Keg is a development that the company from Galicia presents exclusively in the international market. This kind of packaging, according to its creators, improves the organoleptic properties of the product, because it preserves better its carbonatation and it adapts better to the traditional taps, so that the catering professionals do not need to do any modifications in its facilities.
The company is also introducing for the first time in the Spanish market Maypac, a can protection system developed by the German company Maypac, which will be applied to the new can format “sleek” 33 cl. This system increases significantly the food security of the product, avoiding can dirtiness and improving the drink’s preservation once opened. Furthermore, it provides increased convenience for the consumer in transport, and also once opened.
