Heinz to Launch First Probiotic Juice in Australia
Heinz’s new probiotic juice is a combination of fruit juice and the immune health probiotics combination Probi Defendum.
24 April 2012 --- Heinz Australia will begin marketing Golden Circle Healthy Life Probiotic Juice in Australia next month. The product, said to be the first non-dairy probiotic beverage launch in Australia, is the result of a partnership with probiotics developer Probi (Lund, Sweden).
Heinz’s new probiotic juice is a combination of fruit juice and the immune health probiotics combination Probi Defendum.
“There is a significant market opportunity for probiotic juice products that have shown to support the body’s natural immune defenses,” says Probi CEO Michael Oredsson. “Probi Defendum is a unique probiotic platform based on the combination of two strains—Lactobacillus plantarum HEAL9 and Lactobacillus paracasei 8700:2—which have in large clinical studies been shown to prevent colds, significantly reduce cold symptoms, and shorten cold periods.”
Oredsson says this marks the first Defendum product launch outside of Sweden.
