Genesee Brew House Releases New Pilsner, IPA
Rochester, NY – Spring is here and everyone is ready to get outdoors and crack open a refreshing beverage. The Genesee Brew House Pilot Batch Series is giving beer lovers two creations to delight the palate with its all-new IPA and Pilsner styles.
The IPA boasts a deep copper color bursting with flavor and a caramel malt profile to balance its intense hop bitterness. Loaded with four different types of hops, this brew has a powerful, yet very balanced, clean taste.
“For the IPA, we struck a balance between East and West coast styles by pairing a strong malt profile with prominent hops and tings of citrus, pine and grapefruit,” explained Genesee Brew House Brewmaster, Dean Jones. “I crafted several test batches before I was satisfied that I’d created the right recipe that would appeal to IPA-lovers and their astute senses. The fifth test batch turned out to be the winner that was sent to the brew house for production.”
The North German-style Pilsner is a crisp and exceptionally fresh beer prominently featuring Noble German hops along with the finest Pilsner malt. It is a medium-bodied lager that releases subtle, bready malt flavors balanced by an intense, but pleasant, hop bitterness.
“We wanted our Pilsner to stand out amongst others,” said Jones. “Tapping into Genesee’s rich past of brewing exquisite German-style beers, we made sure our mixture had a bold hop presence, typical of a Pilsner brewed in the north of Germany. This is one of the most difficult beers to brew correctly, so I’m very proud that we’ve crafted such an appealing blend.”
As New York’s oldest brewery, Genesee takes pride in time-honored traditions and its 138-year brewing legacy to create new and innovative beers. The all-new Genesee Brew House IPA and North German-style Pilsner were meticulously designed to provide beer lovers with a true taste of classic craft brewing.
The IPA will be available year-round beginning in April 2016 while the Pilsner will be available for a limited time only beginning May 2016. Both beers will be available in select retailers throughout several states across the country.
