Fortitech South America Focuses on Functional Confections at Fisa

22/09/06 At Food Ingredients South America (FISA), Fortitech South America focused on improving and maintaining the wellness of its aging population within that region but in a non-traditional manner. Not showing interest in taking mega-doses of nutrients or supplements, current trends suggest older adults are actively looking to find exciting and more pleasurable ways of receiving their nutrition without sacrificing good taste or texture. Fortitech South America offered several new fortified applications that meet this demand.

To get a solid nutrient boost, attendees dipped fresh fruit in fortified melted chocolate. This fortified confection is a delicious, smooth and well-rounded treat, blended with more than 15 essential vitamins and minerals. The functional profile of this chocolate includes the B vitamins, antioxidants, calcium, folic acid, magnesium, zinc and iron, to name a few.
 
Fortitech South America also had two different fortified lollipops containing several healthy ingredients to give a nutritious boost. Our premix for the passion fruit flavored lollipops includes immunity-enhancing vitamins and minerals including vitamins A, C, iron and zinc. The premix for the apple flavored lollipops includes an excellent blend of overall nutrition targeting immunity, enhanced metabolism and increased energy. Nutrients in this application include vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B6, B12, folic acid and pantothenic acid.

Held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, FISA is one of the leading trade shows for new trends, solutions and technology for the food industry. The event is the world's fourth largest food ingredients show and last year, more than 250 companies from 30 countries participated. The show also attracted more than 17,000 visitors in 2005.
