Fortitech Inc Opens New Distribution Center
Prior to opening the new facility, distribution services for Fortitech were coordinated through leased warehouse space in Albany, NY. Those operations, and the personnel supporting them, have transitioned to Glenville.
20/05/09 Fortitech, Inc., the world leader in the development and manufacture of custom nutrient premixes for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, has completed construction of its new 48,000 square foot distribution center in Glenville, NY. The facility is located on 23 acres of land and is part of Schenectady County’s new Airport Business Park. The distribution center is part of Fortitech’s $40 million global expansion to strengthen customer service, client relations, and manufacturing/testing capabilities.
“Fortitech began operations in the Rotterdam Industrial Park in 1986 and the company is committed to Schenectady County,” said Walter S. Borisenok, President and CEO, Fortitech, Inc. “Working with Schenectady County’s Metroplex Development Authority was crucial in making possible this latest expansion to our new site at the Airport Business Park. This will enable us to continue to grow our business in this region while enhancing and expanding the services we offer to our domestic and global customers. Susan E. Savage, Chair of the Schenectady County Legislature said, “Fortitech has called Schenectady County home for over 20 years and it has been a pleasure to watch the company grow. Schenectady County’s Metroplex Development Authority provided funding to construct a new access road to the Airport Business Park to service Fortitech and other future tenants.

Additionally, the company recently expanded its world headquarters, located in Schenectady’s Riverside Technology Park, to accommodate increased production, office and warehouse space, bringing the total square footage of that location to 130,000. Now, with the exception of the company’s 58,000 sq ft plant located in Ontario, CA, all North America Fortitech operations will be managed out of Schenectady County.
