Feel the Campina Day
Dutch consumers drink approximately 200 million litres of Campina milk a year. That makes Campina the largest brand for milk by far.
06/10/06 As the biggest retail brand in the Netherlands, Campina has been communicating what it stands for even more clearly to consumers, clients and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) since 12 July: for milk from identifiable dairy farmers close to the consumer, promotion of outdoor grazing, a ‘greener’ dairy chain through the use of green soya in cattle feed and milk with a more balanced fatty acid composition.
From the spring of 2007, through a combination of different feed for cows and outdoor grazing, Dutch consumers will be able to buy Campina milk with 10% fewer saturated fatty acids, 20% more unsaturated fatty acids and double the content of Omega 3 fatty acids.
Dutch consumers drink approximately 200 million litres of Campina milk a year. That makes Campina the largest brand for milk by far. To ensure this milk has a more balanced composition the whole year round, about 600 of the more than 6,000 Campina member-farmers in the Netherlands will be laying the groundwork at their farms for production of this Campina milk with a more balanced fatty acid composition.
Never before has a dairy company in the Netherlands called for such a large, separate supply of milk. And under the watchful eye of the Verkleij dairy herd, the company spent this day learning about the four pillars of the new dairy standard: close to the consumer, healthy, sustainable and natural.
