EDV Packaging wins a Líderpack 2005 Award

13/03/2006, Barcelona, Spain - EDV Packaging wins a Líderpack 2005 Award. EDV Packaging would like to announce that it has been awarded a Líderpack Award in the category of Primary Packaging for Food for its innovative pack for Soups for the H.J Heinz Company UK. This is the first occasion that EDV Packaging has participated in the Líderpack Awards in Spain which are sponsored by the Graphispack Association. This year will be the 6th occasion that these awards have been held.
The Awards ceremony will take place on the 27th March at 19,30 in Pavilion 2 of the Gran Via M2 Fair and will be presided over by Josep Ma Rañé, Minister for Industry from the Generalitat de Catalunya.
EDV Packaging will be exhibiting at the Hispack Fair and is located at Stand D501 in Pavilion 1. THE AWARD WINNING PACKAGE
EDV Packaging coextrudes and thermoforms the PP/EVOH/PP white structure in the production plant located in Barcelona, Spain. The cup offers barriers to oxygen, moisture and UV light. Due to material selection and thermoforming know-how it withstands the rigorous sterilisation processing required when producing longlife ambient stable packages. The stability and protection offered by such a product along with its potential to be differentiated by design and its user-friendliness through easy-open packages and microwaveability. The resulting package is sold at ambient temperatures and has been given a shelf life of 12 months. For user convenience and thanks to the properties of PolyPropylene the package is microwaveable.
This particular cup has a diameter of 89,5mm and a height of 95mm with a brimfull capacity of 330cc. The cup has been designed with the inclusion of ribs in the side panels for two purposes: to resist deformation in processing, and to offer some insulation properties to the consumer during consumption when the product is hot. The cup has been hermetically sealed using a transparent and peelable barrier lidding thus offering a 100% plastic barrier solution. It has been decorated with a printed shrink sleeve and an overcap is applied which assists in stacking, as a splash-guard and as a drinking spout for consumption.
