27 Jul 2009 Fresh Rotterdam which will be held on September 21, 2009 and will feature the interactive “Kansrijkvers” (fresh opportunities) conference. The purpose of this meeting is to provide clarity about the opportunities for the fresh foods of tomorrow. Fresh trends, emerging technologies and packaging trends will be thoroughly covered with no in-depth science or marketing sales talk. Dick Veerman, journalist and owner of Foodlog.nl will show how the fresh sector in the 21st century can be reinvented. Higher quality and more profit for the producer will once again be the norm. Tiago Guerreiro of Innova Market Insights will explain how the company’s new products database can be used to track product innovations in 'fresh' in the rest of the world.
Wouter the Heij (TOP) will flip the switch after the break by asking "what really is fresh?" He also discusses the question "what emerging technologies offer the opportunity for an innovative product and thus a new market creation.”
After that, Packaging Professor and Professor of Europe Packaging & Design Management at the University of Twente will discuss fresh packaging design. Prof. Ir Dr Roland ten Klooster will discuss the latest insights and opportunities for fresh packaging.
Infodish/Food Workshop will address the topic "More with vegetables, from idea to product”. Marc Old Luttikhuis will teach the tricks of the trade. Finally, Bas Groeneweg (Perfotec) will explain how you can improve the durability of fresh products by using a line laser perforation system.
In summary, a varied program is being offered, using the entire food system to offer insight into how technological innovations can best be employed in business.
