DSM to Move Satiety Ingredients Manufacturing to United States
As these products are already mainly sold in North America, DSM believes it is economically no longer feasible to keep the Svängsta site open.
Feb 6 2012 --- Royal DSM announces that it intends to transfer the manufacturing of satiety ingredients (Fabuless) by its business unit Lipid Technologies Provider AB (LTP) from Svängsta, Sweden, to the United States in the coming months. As these products are already mainly sold in North America, DSM believes it is economically no longer feasible to keep the Svängsta site open.
As DSM has a very limited portfolio of other products the manufacturing facility in Svängsta could be equipped for, the company has started the process of finding a new owner for the site to preserve the existing 16 job positions. Should DSM not succeed in finding a candidate before June 2012, the site will be closed down. In this case, individual arrangements will be drawn up for the employees involved. Production in Svängsta of Fabuless will be continued until the end of May 2012.
