07/06/05 Delicato Family Vineyards has announced the introduction of Delicato Family Vineyards' 2004 Pinot Grigio. The wine is created from selected vineyards in Northern California and will retail for approximately $6.99.
According to AC Nielsen, the domestic Pinot Grigio category grew 50% in case volume and 46% in dollar volume during the past year, making it the fastest growing white wine in America.
Delicato Family Vineyards was recently named fastest growing among California's top ten wineries by authoritative industry consultants Gomberg, Fredrikson & Associates. The firm reported Delicato's bottled wine sales last year grew 15%, a higher percentage of growth than any of California's other top ten wineries.
The winery has also announced a re-designed label is now appearing on the latest releases of Delicato Family Vineyards award-winning wines. In addition to the new Pinot Grigio, the brand includes a vintage dated Shiraz, Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and White Zinfandel. These wines are available nationally and in selected international markets.
Delicato won "Best American Winery" at London's prestigious International Wine and Spirit Competition two years in a row, and Delicato Family Vineyards Shiraz was awarded "Best Shiraz in California" at the California State Fair Wine Competition three years in a row.
