Dakota Beef launches new line of certified organic beef at Whole Foods
A full range of its certified organic steaks and roasts will be available at the butcher's counter, allowing consumers to choose their favorite cuts of beef.
08/09/05 Dakota Beef LLC has announced the launch of the company's Certified Organic Beef program at the newest Whole Foods store, in Columbus Ohio.
Dakota Beef is the stores only certified organic beef provider. A full range of its certified organic steaks and roasts will be available at the butcher's counter, allowing consumers to choose their favorite cuts of beef. Dakota Beef will also offer its new Organic All Beef Hot Dog in the refrigerated section of the deli case. As part of the grand opening celebration, Dakota Beef will offer samples of its products September 16th - 18th.
Sales of organic products have grown at an annual rate of 20% over the past decade, reaching $15 billion in 2004, with $32 billion in sales projected by 2009. According to The Organic Trade Association, meat and poultry sales jumped 78% in 2003, making it the fastest growing segment in the organic industry.
