CP Kelco Names New US Distributor, Invests in Specialty Biogums Capabilities

Lomas will be its exclusive distributor for all its products sold into food, consumer and industrial applications in the United States, effective January 1, 2016.

As CP Kelco’s distribution partner in Canada for the last 10 years, L.V. Lomas has a proven reputation for agility, flexibility and personal attention to CP Kelco customers. L.V. Lomas offers complete U.S. market coverage, secure supply chains, solid technical service and extensive customer support.

In response to the strong global demand for specialty Biogums products, CP Kelco announced plans to invest in building capabilities and expanding production capacity.

As a leading global producer of hydrocolloid solutions used in a wide range of consumer products and industrial applications, CP Kelco is reinforcing its commitment to three Biogums product lines – gellan gum, specialty xanthan gum and diutan gum – through these key operational initiatives:
•Expanding capacity for gellan gum beyond CP Kelco’s existing San Diego, California plant with additional production line capability in the company’s Okmulgee, Oklahoma facility;
•Developing new capabilities for specialty xanthan gum production in the company’s Wulian, China facility;
•Exploring options for further expansion of CP Kelco’s Biogums manufacturing footprint
