ConAgra to Expand Production Capacity of Flour in Texas
Once the expansion is finished in the spring of 2008, the plant will be able to make up to 1.4 million pounds of flour daily, the company said. The plant can currently produce up to 600,000 pounds of flour a day.
25/04/07 ConAgra Foods Inc. is more than doubling production capacity at its flour mill in Saginaw, Texas, the packaged food company said on Monday.
Once the expansion is finished in the spring of 2008, the plant will be able to make up to 1.4 million pounds of flour daily, the company said. The plant can currently produce up to 600,000 pounds of flour a day.
"The reason we're expanding is to more efficiently serve our growing customer base in Texas," said spokeswoman Melissa Baron. "In addition, it allows us to produce whole wheat (flour) at this facility."
ConAgra, which makes Orville Redenbacher's popcorn, Health Choice meals and Hebrew National hog dogs, acquired the plant in 2002 and it is one of 24 ConAgra flour mills in the United States and Puerto Rico.
