Christopher Ranch Introduces New Garlic Eco-Friendly Bags

2/17/2011 --- Christopher Ranch has switched from rigid plastic (PET) containers to recloseable bags for its popular Garlic. The bags are manufactured to use 80 percent less material than the old style jars at an estimated savings of more than one-half million pounds of plastic.

Additionally, the new bags take up less refrigerator space and press flat for easy disposal taking up much less space in garbage and recycling bins. The enhanced design of the thinner bags increases cooling efficiency to preserve product freshness, and the tear-off hood and tamper resistant membrane strengthens the line for food safety. A slider zipper adds a recloseable feature, which helps keep the garlic fresh after initial opening.
