Carrefour sells its Mexican assets to Chedraui

The assets include 29 hypermarkets plus two hypermarket projects due to open in 2005.
11/03/05 Carrefour has announced that it has sold its assets in Mexico to Chedraui.
These assets include 29 hypermarkets plus two hypermarket projects due to open in 2005. Carrefour’s ex VAT sales in Mexico in 2004 were €519m.
Chedraui is a leading Mexican food retailer. It trades currently from 64 hypermarkets in the south of the country.
The sale of Carrefour Mexico is part of a programme announced by Carrefour Group in September 2004 to divest non-strategic or under performing activities.
