Cargill given Pagnan acquisition go-ahead

The part of its business to be acquired concerns mainly the trading of grains and oilseed meals, as well as the production and sale of animal feed products. Most of this business is carried out within Italy.

24/03/05 The European Commission has given Cargill the go-ahead for the proposed acquisition of the importing and trading business of Pagnan S.p.A. by Cargill. The operation Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the EEA or any substantial part of it and has therefore approved the concentration.

Pagnan S.p.A. (Pagnan) is active in the import and trading of agricultural commodities. The part of its business to be acquired concerns mainly the trading of grains and oilseed meals, as well as the production and sale of animal feed products. Most of this business is carried out within Italy.
