Cargill Cares About Farm Safety
Our commitment is to provide safe workplaces and safe products, to protect the environment and to be responsible citizens in the communities in which we operate.
4/27/2011 --- Cargill Limited is proud to announce they are partnering with the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) to be the core supporter of seven Progressive Agriculture Safety Days this year in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
Alongside CASA, Cargill is covering the cost of training, Canadian administration and resource development for seven Canadian Safety Days in 2011 in the prairies and Ontario- an investment of almost $20,000.
"This is a first for Cargill and for Safety Days in Canada" said Neil Sabourin, National Manager, Cargill Farm Logics. Our commitment is to provide safe workplaces and safe products, to protect the environment and to be responsible citizens in the communities in which we operate. Educating kids on the importance of farm safety is of utmost importance for us. We feel as though this opportunity to work so closely with CASA aligns naturally with our vision," added Sabourin.
Cargill employees will be present during their local Safety Days acting as volunteers and ambassadors for farm safety.
Cargill's support this year has significantly increased the number of Safety Days in Canada. This year there are 63 Days set for Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec New Brunswick and Nova Scotia; involving 12,000 rural youth and almost 3,000 volunteers.
