Campina joins SaraLee subsidiary to produce iced coffee drinks
The category for directly consumable iced coffee drinks is showing strong international growth. Not only in Germany and the United States, but also in Asia.
16/06/06 Campina and Douwe Egberts, a subsidiary of SaraLee, will introduce an iced coffee drink, Café Fresco, on the Dutch market. The two A-brands, with a top rating in the list of best-selling brands in the Dutch supermarkets, will combine 100 percent Douwe Egberts Arabica coffee with fresh milk from Campina.
Both companies are confident that this innovation will put iced coffee drinks category definitively on the map in the Netherlands. The category for directly consumable iced coffee drinks is showing strong international growth. Not only in Germany and the United States, but also in Asia. In Japan this segment is even larger than cola.
Depending on the success of Café Fresco in the Netherlands, the partners will consider introducing this concept in other countries.
