Brand New Cheese Pack from Amcor Offers More Choice
The innovative packaging format used to pack Emmi's cheeseboard consists of a tray with four separate cavities and is sealed with a lidding film from Amcor Flexibles.
3 Dec 2009 --- Emmi, Switzerland's leading cheese and dairy product company, has introduced their brand new cheeseboard (“Käsplättli”) with a hard cheese range available in the two varieties; Swiss Tradition and Premium Selection. Now consumers have the choice between four different types of individually portioned cheese, but conveniently packed in one single pack.
The innovative packaging format used to pack Emmi's cheeseboard consists of a tray with four separate cavities and is sealed with a lidding film from Amcor Flexibles, which is further enhanced by Amcor contour perforation technology. Consumers clearly benefit from Amcor's expertise in contour perforation as they can now either peel the complete lid open or, if they want a single piece only, push the individual cavities open and only take the cheese they long for.
"The pack's lid plays an important role in the launch of our new product. Through Amcor's know-how in contour perforation technology we were able to give the consumer the choice to either open the whole pack at once or to access the individual portions only. This allows the consumers to eat the four cheese varieties in no particular order and at the same time keep the remaining cheese fresh and reduce food waste," explains Birte Dorenkamp, Team Leader Packaging at Emmi.
The pack style and design clearly differentiate Emmi's cheeseboard on the shelf. The appealing colours and images have been enhanced by matt and gloss print effects, whilst windows on the lid reveal the contents. Opening indicators in the corner and on the individual cavities highlight the opening benefits.
So, Swiss cheese lovers should look out for Emmi's cheeseboard and indulge in the different cheese types Emmentaler, Le Gruyère, LUZERNER cream cheese, Appenzeller and Tilsiter in handy portions.
