Brand LSK Smoked Turkey Products Acquired by Nebraska Meat Corporation
Nebraska Meat Corporation assumes no debt liability of LSK Smoked Turkey Products and will continue to service the marketplace with the same dedication to quality, value, service and variety.
19/10/06 Nebraska Meat Corporation has agreed to acquire the brand LSK Smoked Turkey Products. This acquisition will further strengthen the Nebraska Meat presence in the marketplace as well as continue to build a formidable brand as a category leader in supplying smoked and fresh pork, poultry and beef products.
The corporate infrastructure will maintain its core strengths while adding additional depth in its sales department. Jerry Romanoff will remain as CEO and Maria Paredes will continue her role as President, while Owen Grossblatt will be appointed VP of Sales and Dan Salmon will assume the title of VP of Operations.

When asked about future growth plans, Maria Paredes, President, said, "Because of the synergies between Nebraska Meat and LSK, this is a good fit now, as well as long term. The business cultures are similar and this venture will enable us to extend our sales reach, increase our market penetration and enhance our market position."
The financial arrangements were not disclosed at the time of this release. The Romanoff family has operated in the retail and wholesale meat business for 100 years, since 1905. Their business included packing houses in Nebraska, New York, and Iowa, as well as many other facets of the food industry with a current emphasis on multi-cultural merchandising.
Nebraska Meat Corporation was established in 1980 and utilizes the latest techniques to provide premium quality smoked meat products to the supermarket industry. In 1997, the company relocated to a new facility in Newark, New Jersey, which includes modern smokehouses with state-of-the-art packaging equipment.
