Brancott Estate Unveils 'Light and Fresh’ Sauvignon Blanc
17 Sep 2013 --- New Zealand wine brand, Brancott Estate, is launching Flight, a contemporary light and fresh Sauvignon Blanc, crafted to tap into consumer preference for a lighter alcohol style.
Launching this autumn, Brancott Estate Flight will be available to the off-trade with an RRP of £10.49, and will be supported with a raft of activation including in-store POS, ATL activity, PR, digital support, sampling and events.
Wine consumption trends show that consumers are looking for a wine which is lighter in style, but doesn’t compromise on the taste and flavour complexity of the wine. Through early harvesting and carefully controlled fermentation, Brancott Estate has been able to craft a wine that is full of flavour and naturally lighter in alcohol, with an ABV of 9.0%. Importantly, this Sauvignon Blanc is still true to the style that has made Marlborough famous, with freshness, a ripe flavour profile and complexity.
Industry thinking has always been that ripe flavours could not be achieved at the lower sugar levels associated with early harvesting. Brancott Estate Flight Sauvignon Blanc challenges this thinking as the key flavour aroma compounds of grapefruit and passion fruit are at levels notably higher than those found in competitor wines of a similar ABV.
Lucy Bearman, head of marketing at Pernod Ricard UK says: “Brancott Estate Flight has been carefully developed to offer consumers a light and fresh wine style that still delivers a premium Sauvignon Blanc experience.
“We will be supporting the launch with a 360 integrated marketing campaign to ensure that fans of Sauvignon Blanc and loyalists of the brand are aware of our pioneering new addition.”
