12 Mar 2015 --- Bold Rock Hard Cider has announced the launch of its new variety packs. The new 12-bottle packs will include three styles of the award-winning Bold Rock’s locally crafted hard ciders, which are now being distributed throughout the East Coast from Pennsylvania through South Carolina.
The variety packs will include popular flagship offerings Bold Rock Apple and Bold Rock Draft, as well as the newly released Bold Rock Pear. All Bold Rock Ciders are made with fresh locally sourced apples, picked at scenic orchards in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia and Western North Carolina. Bold Rock Apple has crisp and refreshing character, delivering the fresh taste of green Granny Smith Apples. Bold Rock Draft is a more robust yet sessionable variety with a smooth and mellow taste that satisfies with a surprisingly complex broad blend of apples.
The recently released Bold Rock Pear marks the first time the craft cidery has used an additional fruit in a recipe for its freshly crafted hard cider. The new style blends the natural softness and residual sweetness of New Zealand pears with the crisp refreshing taste of Bold Rock’s locally picked Blue Ridge apples. The result is a golden pear hard cider with exceptional balance and body.
Opened in 2012, Bold Rock formed out of the partnership between John Washburn and Brian Shanks. Washburn has long owned the picturesque Virginia farmland where the cidery is now headquartered in Nelson County. He reached out to Shanks to see if the New Zealand native and world-renowned cider expert would be interested in working his magic with locally picked apples from nearby century-old orchards. In the short time since, these two fast friends have put together a rapidly growing operation, using state-of-the art equipment that is run by a hard-working staff of 32 local Virginia employees to produce delicious craft cider.
Giving craft cider lovers a chance to sample the best of Bold Rock, the new variety packs will be available February 12th and sold wherever Bold Rock is currently distributed.
