Blackwell Rum Lands on U.S. Shores
16 Apr 2014 --- Chris Blackwell’s independent spirit inspired Island Records, the label that brought Bob Marley, U2 and Steve Winwood to the forefront of the music industry. Blackwell is now the pioneer behind Blackwell Fine Jamaican Rum, utilizing the import services of MHW Ltd.
Blackwell Rum is hand-crafted from Chris Blackwell’s own recipe. It is made from Jamaican sugar cane and is small-batch-pot distilled by local workers. This intricate process produces a rich and complex dark-gold colouring – it has been coined “Black Gold” by the island locals. The eye-catching packaging captures the true spirit of the magical island; it is vibrant and authentic. The label targets the $20-$25 750 mL retail premium market.
“We are excited at the prospect of bringing Blackwell Rum to the US” says Geoff Curley, USA Sales Manager. “It is an exceptionally competitive price point for delivering traditional, full-bodied, dark-gold Jamaican rum.”
