BENEO’S Palatinose Adds to Nth Degree Low GI Performance Drink
erived from sugar beets, Palatinose is a healthy, low glycemic, functional carbohydrate that is fully digestible and provides a prolonged energy supply in the form of glucose.
5 June 2012 --- BENEO announced that their slow release carbohydrate Palatinose (isomaltulose) is the power behind Nth Degree Low GI, a new low glycemic index performance beverage created for endurance, performance and energy. Derived from sugar beets, Palatinose is a healthy, low glycemic, functional carbohydrate that is fully digestible and provides a prolonged energy supply in the form of glucose.
Palatinose is coined as “the next generation sugar” because of its unique vital function, offering key features and benefits such as:
• Digested fully yet slowly supplies the body with the full energy of carbohydrates over a longer period of time
• Generates a much lower effect on already normal blood glucose levels compared to higher glycemic index sweeteners
• Promotes the body’s own fat oxidation (fat burning) during physical activity as well as during rest, as proven in several studies at the University of Freiburg, Rehabilitative and Preventive Sports Medicine
“We are very excited to incorporate Palatinose in our product. Nth Degree Low GI Performance Drink is breaking new ground by offering a low glycemic index sports drink alternative to well-known market leaders. By doing so, we will be bringing the performance drink category to the next level,” stated Bob Todaro, COO, Nth Degree Innovations Inc.
Joseph O’Neill, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing of BENEO, stated, “BENEO is pleased to see Palatinose included in the innovative Nth Degree Low GI Performance Drink. Our next generation sugar provides constant and extended energy in the form of glucose, the essential functional source for mental and physical performance, which is crucial in creating a superior performance drink such as this.”
Nth Degree Low GI Performance Drinks was launched in late May 2012 and is available in four natural flavors: Orange, Raspberry, Lemon Citrus and Fruit Punch. They are fortified with B vitamins and a balance of electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium. In addition, Nth Degree Low GI has no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. A 20 ounce bottle has a suggested retail price of $2.49.
