Ball Produces New 25 cl Can for Coca-Cola
The new container from Ball Packaging Europe will be on the market in April.
11 Mar 2010 --- For a slight thirst when you’re out and about Coca-Cola Germany is now canning its refreshment classic in the handy 25 cl can from Ball Packaging Europe. The slim can will be presented for the first time at Internorga in Hamburg and will be available throughout Germany as from April. The container is to be on offer above all in beverage coolers in the retail trade as well as in bakers’ shops, snack bars and kiosks. The fast cooling, compact beverage cans are ideally suited to this market segment and have, in addition, good environmental values.
As a small pack from Coca-Cola, the 25 cl can especially appeals to consumers who would like to have a refreshing drink in a small package size for use when travelling.
For people on the move and for the environment

Due to the low weight, cans are an ideal package for people who are on the move. Thanks to the optimum barrier properties beverage cans protect the product from light and oxygen and, combined with the characteristic hissing during opening, make a special experience of freshness possible. At the same time they cool quickly and are very compact: ideal prerequisites for logistics and stock-keeping even in the case of a small storage and sales area, such as on refrigerated shelves or kiosks.
The new 25 cl can is regularly subject to a deposit of 0.25 euros and goes back into the recycling cycle after use. “Beverage cans are the most frequently recycled beverage packages in the world,“ explains Wolfgang Hinkel, Managing Director of Ball Packaging Europe Metall GmbH. “The use of recycled material saves up to 95 percent of the energy required for the production of new material. In that way beverage cans make their contribution to the protection of the environment. “
